Unlike conventional geraniums, this new generation of varieties does not produce any pollen. As a result, it does not attract insects and does not produce the unwanted spikes which it is recommended are removed during the season in conventional varieties in order to avoid reduction of new flowers. In the “Hawk F1” group, the inflorescence falls off spontaneously after flowering and the plants continue to flower. Apart from this, the lifespan of the inflorescence is more than 7 days longer and plants produce up to 20% more flowers during vegetation than conventional varieties.
Cultivation is identical to that of conventional geraniums. Plants are well branched and compact, They tolerate both direct sun and partial shade extremely well.
